We worked from modest spaces, fueled by late nights and a dream to build something meaningful.
“Our journey began with limited resources, but we had one thing in abundance: vision,” says our Founder and Group President, Mr. Ugi Augustine Ugi. “That vision has been our compass, guiding every decision and every step we have taken.”
From our humble beginnings, we took on our first projects, small in scope but monumental in significance. Every platform we developed and every line of code we wrote laid the foundation for what Nugi Technologies would eventually become.

One of the defining moments in our journey came when we became the Technology Consultant for the Cross River State Government. It was more than just a partnership; it was a turning point. Through this collaboration, we developed enterprise solutions that did not just streamline processes but transformed the State’s revenue systems entirely.
In the first year, the solutions we built boosted the State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by over 60%. Platforms like MyCrossRiverApp made governance more accessible, connecting citizens with essential services in ways never seen before.
“Our work in Cross River was not just about technology,” says our Chief Operations Officer, Ms. Ajoke Akinlabi. “It was about creating a legacy proving that innovation can drive real, measurable change for governments and communities.”
3. Expanding Horizons
As Nugi Technologies grew, so did our ambition. This year, we took a giant leap forward by opening our international office in the United Kingdom in March 2023. This milestone was more than an expansion; it was a statement.
“Our entry into the United Kingdom market symbolises everything we have worked toward,” says our Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Godswill Adie. “It is proof that African innovation has a global voice. We are not just representing Nugi; we are representing a continent full of talent, creativity, and potential.”
This move has opened doors for international partnerships and market expansion, further solidifying Nugi’s position as a leader in the tech space.
4. Empowering the Next Generation
Education has always been at the heart of what we do. Through Nugi Innovations, our tech academy, we have trained hundreds of young people, equipping them with the skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
“Our dream has always been to see the next generation take the reins,” says our Human Resource Manager, Ms. Scholastica Ojang. “Every graduate of Nugi Innovations represents a brighter future not just for themselves, but for the communities they will serve.”
Last year, we have made significant upgrades to our curriculum and outreach efforts, ensuring that aspiring tech enthusiasts from across Africa have the tools they need to succeed in the digital age.
5. Planting Seeds for Tomorrow
Nugi Technologies is about more than just tech; it is about building a sustainable future. Under the Nugi Group of Companies, we are launching new ventures that span multiple industries. Ventures like Nugi Farms and Nugi Power.
Nugi Farms is an agricultural initiative aimed at revolutionising farming through modern techniques and smart technology, ensuring food security, sustainability, and long-term growth for Africa. We are bringing technology to the agricultural sector in a way that has not been seen before.
“Nugi Farms is not just about farming,” says our Chief Operations Officer, Ms. Ajoke Akinlabi. “It is about food security, sustainability, and innovation. We are creating a model that merges tradition with technology to solve real-world challenges.”
In addition, Nugi Power is set to provide affordable, sustainable energy solutions, creating a new chapter in Africa’s energy landscape. These ventures, alongside our other plans, will help build an ecosystem that touches every aspect of life.
6. Challenges That Shaped Us
Every success story has its hurdles, and ours is no different. From navigating complex projects to expanding during economic challenges, the road has not always been smooth. But each challenge became an opportunity to grow, learn, and prove our resilience.
“Challenges are where we find our strength,” says our Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Godswill Adie. They remind us of why we started, and they push us to keep going, to do better, and to never settle for less than our best.”
